FAQ

Simple answers before you pay for GovScout Pro

Use this page to understand what Marcus does, which plan to choose, how billing works, and what still depends on your own company facts and official government sources.

What is GovScout Pro?

GovScout Pro is a federal contracting workspace for small businesses. Marcus helps with search, document review, pipeline tracking, outreach planning, and bid package preparation.

Is Marcus a real human consultant?

Marcus is the AI adviser inside GovScout Pro. He is designed to work like a disciplined consultant: evidence first, risks clearly stated, and practical next actions.

Which plan should I choose?

Beginner is for setup and learning. Intermediate is best for active searching, alerts, and document review. Professional is for bid packages and serious pursuit workflow.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Customers should be able to manage billing and cancellation through Stripe once the production Stripe setup is fully verified.

Do I need a SAM.gov API key?

A personal SAM.gov API key is strongly recommended. It is free and helps GovScout search live opportunities without relying on shared demo limits.

Can Marcus send alerts?

The app includes email, Telegram, and WhatsApp alert settings inside Business Profile. Delivery depends on the production messaging services being configured and verified.

Does GovScout guarantee contract wins?

No. GovScout does not guarantee awards. It helps you make better pursuit decisions, organize evidence, reduce mistakes, and prepare stronger workflows.

Who should contact support?

Email stevenh@govscout.pro for billing, account access, feedback, partnership questions, or help understanding which plan fits your current stage.

What should I do before using Marcus?

Write down your services, likely NAICS codes, certifications, target agencies, and proof of past performance. Marcus gives better guidance when the business facts are specific.

Can GovScout replace SAM.gov?

No. SAM.gov remains the official source for federal opportunities. GovScout helps you search, organize, score, and act on opportunities more clearly.

Can Marcus verify my certification?

Marcus can explain certification paths and point you to official sources, but he cannot certify your business. SDVOSB and VOSB certification is handled through SBA VetCert.

What makes a good first search?

A good search uses buyer language, NAICS or PSC clues, realistic deadlines, set-aside filters, and a clear rule for GO, TEAM, PASS, NOGO, or PENDING.

What if I am not ready to bid?

That is normal. Start with sources sought notices, subcontracting targets, capability statement cleanup, and agency research before spending time on a full proposal.

How should I use the free tools?

Use them to prepare clean inputs: a capability statement draft, SAM.gov search plan, NAICS research list, readiness score, and bid/no-bid checklist. Then bring that into Marcus.
